Weird Pricing of parts from SAP 200 1988

Last week while washing my '88 I bumped the right front turn lens and it shatters. So old, so brittle, it just crumbled. I do an ebay search and end buying some Estonia (sp?) lenses from Swedish Auto Parts. They come a couple of days later and they look good, fit well etc. Next to my turn lenses my headlight lenses now look really crappy, so I get the sandpaper out and the water hose and try to remove the yellow (again). They're still crappy looking so I write this same company and he sends me back a note saying new headlight lenses are $25 each. I think about it for a couple of days and decide I can change the lenses only since I want to keep whatever light pattern Volvo gave me and not risk the pattern I'd get with an aftermarket headlight. OK, so I call the company and tell the guy I want to order new lenses based on his email to me. He says "what price did I quote you", I say $25 each, but if you have a better sale going on I'll take it. He says, "no they're $25 but sometimes I quote $30 or $40 each, it just depends". This kind of stuff bugs me and I've been going over it in my mind for a couple of days now. The problem is that you just never know when you're being overcharged, ripped off, or treated fairly with this kind of guy.

Rant over.
