brakes intermittently going soft. 900 1991

it just started but the brakes on my 940 turbo have been going to soft. it will start to brake then go to the floor. not all the time but it happened a few time yesterday. got home and fluid looks good and no leaks. is something going. haven't looked at the brakes yet. could the master cylinder be heading south?
