Down-the-road oil filter relocation good/bad anecdotes? 700

Both of the 740 cars here have achieved near-perfect oil change synchronization and so I'm being treated to twice the acceptable exposure intensity of horrible oil-soaked RF engine mounts, neurotic worrying about rotting starter cables and particularly the drooling, incontinent mess beneath the car.

"No good deed shall go unpunished" was apparently the guiding philosophy of the gibbering engineer who penciled in this particular part of the B230.

Yes, I'm referring to the idiotic oil filter- horizontal, full of scummy used lubricant, and requiring to be unscrewed so it can vomit all over the side of the engine and then be drizzlingly maneuvered over the (previously) clean and dry PS hoses, fender well, frame channel, etc.

Now that I've vented (thanks!), is there anybody still tuned in who has done a filter relocation and lived with it for a while and who might be able to relate any issues that may come up from doing this? Slagging the engine is worse than hosing it down after an oil change so before taking any corrective steps I'd be very interested to hear of good/bad experiences or any tips on relocation. Also, known working kit for doing the job...

Thanks for any help forthcoming!
