Testing a fuel gauge 140-160

Thanks for the information. Might put my meter on the gauge pole and see if I pick up voltage there. Can try and see if there is continuity to the wire going to the sending unit. If I pull the gauge I will have to figure out how to wire it to test it stand alone. Wonder if there is an ohm test across the two poles on the gauge itself?


The rheostat was bypassed already. In the process an output from the PC board that supplies power to other lights in dash was bypassed as well. Simple change and I can wire that back in. Be nice to find a rheostat that would fit the cluster hole.
