battery dead, buzz after key taken out .. 200 1984

My battery died, but there is just enough juice for a buzzer to continue, even after the key is removed. Lights are not on, dome light off. With key in, no dash lights are on, and starter won't turn. Was running great. I bought the car Monday, so I have no idea on condition of the battery (but have another one charging that I know is good that I will put in).

Anyway, I think it might be in the door lock actuator - it is already a little flaky, and if I play with the driver's door lock I can get the buzzing to stop. Also, since the central locking isn't working anyway, is there any reason I can't just take the door panel off and disconnect the locking actuator to eliminate that as a problem?

Any other ideas of what it could be, or where to look?
