Aux Fan wiring for pre 1990 240s 200

I've got a 1987 245 and am installing an aux fan in front of the AC condenser in order to improve its performance in standstill traffic conditions. Volvos of this vintage typically did not ever come with the aux fan so I am inclined to think that there is no existing wiring for this, and it's not just plug and play.

Has anyone installed an aux fan in a Volvo of this vintage, and if so, can you pass on the details? Where did the fan draw power from? Did you wire it simply to turn on with the AC compressor, or did you use the radiator temp switch option? Post 1991 240s seem to have the switch integrated into the AC lines, but that seems not to be the case for the older models. Information?
