differences between 84 and 86? 200

Forgot to mention, one thing that concerned me about the 86 (a 245) was behind the passenger side rear seat, behind the C pillar and beneath the side window, was some rust (paint bubbling up) but it was both on the exterior and the interior. I think it was fairly deep. Is this a common location for rust to appear? How much would/could this harm the body's integrity?

The 86 also had a non-working temp guage, I would suspect the compensator board now that I know a bit more, and the odometer doesn't work (all common issues, I know).

Otherwise, it drove nice, had a pretty nice interior (leather) and started right up after sitting for a month or two. The emissions passed, CARFAX was clean. Plus, the best is the price - under 1000.

I'm going to go get it today if it is still available (it was still at the lot yesterday, but they were closed) ... from zero to two Volvo's in a week, Is THAT a common illness or am I crazy?
