Passenger Side Brake Light 1991 740 sedan 700 1991

I have a continuous problem. The light works, then doesn't. I have matched all bulbs, cleaned contacts, pryed (gently) the prongs to assure good contact, and added a sealer to the outer lense (in case moisture was the culprit), but still the light works now, then hours later quits. Or the next day it quits. My daughter has been stopped twice - luckily just warnings:). It is only the passenger side brake light that is problematic. All other lights work. If it might well be the bulb failure relay, then how? Is it located behind the ashtray? I'd check, but she is out "cruising"...with the light out, of course. BTW...the bulb failure dashlight also comes on, even when all lights are working.....sometimes....?
TIA--Tyler
