'58 444 Restoration Status Update 444-544

Guys, and Belinda, :)

I stopped by the NAPA garage today on the corner - where my Old Lady has been residing for the past three weeks. They finished installing the missing muffler section, wrapped up the brakes, and installed the prop shaft. I got to drive her for the first time!! It was really short - only around in the parking lot - but it was enough to get me really excited. :) This also confirms that the transmission is working; at least first gear and reverse. :)

Thanks to all you Brickboarders and Olof, VP, etc., for helping to make this restoration dream a reality!

I'm off (on vacation) for the next two weeks! I am supposed to get the car back tomorrow - driving her home a few blocks. Then it's time to reinstall chrome, doors, windows, etc. Gonna be a fun vacation for sure.

Regards,
