Installing New Battery 200 1992

No, just remember to always, always, always disconnect the ground cable first and re-connect it last. No special treatment for the SRS system. If you have a stock Volvo radio make sure you have the anti-theft code available.

When the old battery is out, it's a good time to do some PM. Take out the battery tray and clean it off; wipe down the sheet metal under it with a rag wet with baking soda dissolved in water. With that same mix, use an old toothbrush and clean off your battery terminals, then rinse all with fresh water. Then use one of those inexpensive battery terminal cleaners to freshen up the ID of your cable clamps (the part that goes on the battery posts). Once the new battery is in and hooked up and all is running well, spray your battery terminals with the special stuff they sell that prevents (inhibits) corrosion.
