1993, 240 Wagon. I'm not getting any power to the windshield washer pump connector. The pump itself is good - runs with direct 12v. Rear washer and wiper work normally when I push the button on the stalk, but the windshield washer and wipers don't. Do the front and rear washers have a separate connections to the button on the stalk? The diagram in my Bentley seems to show that the relay and the washer are activated through the same connection on the stalk, rather than the washer taking power from the relay. If so, that would eliminate the relay as the culprit, and I'd have to see what's going on with the stalk switch. Right? The windshield wipers work normally in all stalk positions, which makes me think that the relay is probably good. BTW, where is that relay located? (I'm assuming that front and rear have separate relays.[?])
My understanding of how electrical stuff in cars works is rudimentary, to put it mildly, so, I'd appreciate hearing if my reasoning makes any sense at all before I start tearing things apart.
Thanks,
Bob S.
