Starla exhaust junk 200 1986

i came out to my car today to notice that the 3 year old Starla exhaust system I installed already is rusting through. the connection between the 2nd muffler and the inlet pipe has rusted completely through. WTF? Am I out of line in thinking that 3 years is a crappy life span? I mean the basic aluminized pipes on my pontiac (a car that sits for tons of time whatsmore) are 11 years old and look fresh as daisys. I thought that I was getting a good product with Starla. I am tempted to remove the whole system, box it up and mail it back to them. Have any of you had this same issue?
