Non-Volvo Question about Starter Brushes 200

Guys, this is a non-Volvo questions that I hope you can help me out with. I greatly trust the wealth of automotive knowledge here on this forum.

The problem. Like a dummy I took the two long bolts off the starter on my 2005 Chrysler minivan. I took the end cap off and now can't get the cap back on because I can't get the brushes pushed back over the end of that winding cylinder commutator thingy.

Question. How do I get it back together? How do I keep the brushes pushed back to fit it all together again? What's the tick guys?

Thanks for any tips and help you can give me.

Best wishes.
