1978 244 stalls on hot days

Hello,
I have a 1978 244 DL and have been having problems with it on hot, summer days. On warmer days after driving for approx 20 min, the temp gauge reads a bit higher than usual and the engine starts to cut out and eventually the car dies and will not start again. After letting it sit for a few hours or overnight, it will start back up. I replaced the thermostat and checked the coolant hoses. It doesn't look like I'm losing any coolant. I took it to a local dealership and they replaced the fuel pump relay and the wires to the coil and to the ballast resistor. The problem persists. I can't determine if this is an electrical problem, if the car is overheating (it never reaches the red), or if I'm barking up the wrong tree completely. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
