is it possible my 960 has one fuel pump not two 900 1997

The limited literature that I have found says that I am suppose to have a main fuel pump next to the fuel filter underneath my 1997 960 sedan (non turbo)in addition to the in-tank low pressure pump. I do not have a main fuel pump, it seems. Is it possible that it somewhere not easily visible? OR has my fuel system been modified after market? It's a head scratcher, let me tell ya.
