Torque wrench recommendation ..

I have not heard of torque wrench break-in. I have both a split beam and the non-split beam type. The split beam (mine is 3/8") works fine, but you have to constantly look at the gauge on it to get the torque where you want it. The micrometer kind you can just set and pull until it clicks, sip your beer while tightening, whatever. I use my 3/8" split beam for stuff from like 1 to 30, and my 1/2" micrometer from 20 to 100 or whatever it goes up to. I read most or all of the directions about my Sears 1/2" micrometer unit and don't remember reading anything about break-in.
