Send them a boneyard Bosch starter. Or just use the boneyard starter.
You can look at the brushes but it's a little tricky getting back together
on your first outing.

I found a Boneyard starter for a spare ($20) and took it to them,
They looked it over and said to just use it. They also sold me a
alternator regulator (Brush Assy) for $10. There's a bargain.
