Bosch Pre-pump interchangeability 900

Dear Fellow Brickboarders,

May this find you well. Does anyone know if it is possible - and if possible, wise - to use a pre-pump from a Turbo-equipped car, in a non-turbo car?

The pre-pump from a turbo-equipped car draws 5.5 amps, while the non-turbo pre-pump draws 3-4 Amps (Source: Volvo Pocket data booklet - Cars: 700,850,950; 1991-1996).

I presume the turbo pre-pump puts out a higher volume of fuel, than does a non-turbo pre-pump. As the main fuel pump's throughput is the same - turbo or non-turbo - I'd guess that this higher volume will not damage the main pump. Is that likely to be a good guess?

Thanks for your help. I am much obliged.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
