Overdrive circuit is draining my battery- need advice 200

I have had a dead battery problem on my 89 240 for some time now. I finally think I narrowed the problem down. When I disconnect the overdrive wire from the fuse box (there are three wires that go to fuse #11- one is for the overdrive)I no longer am losing voltage wen the car is running. The second I hook that wire back up the voltage drops steadily.

Any ideas how I can go about correcting this problem? I don't know how to trace the wire. I assume it goes to the transmission.
