auto to manual swap in a regina car 700

Has anyone done this and if so how did they get around the issue of the crank sensor/flywheel compatibility? IIRC regina cars only came with auto in the US(did they have regina cars with manual outside of the US?).

Is it possible to modify the lh2.2/2.4 flywheel to work with the crank sensor on the regina cars? If not is it possible to use a flywheel from a another regina equipped car?

Aside from doing a complete lh2.4 conversion, is there a simpler way to make to do this.

The car is a 91 740 N/A
