Can I make my own dashpad ? 444-544

I think there are a lot of possibilities. Someone here on brickboard fabricated his own vinyl cover and he did a really fine job. I saw a 122 on eBay not long ago with a wooden dash that (at least from a distance) looked excellent.

My own plan, eventually, is to vacuum bag wood veneer onto the dash and then install into car. I have a spare dash, stripped, blasted and powder coated (primed) ready to go as well as a vacuum pump. I don't have any experience with this but I do know it's doable. Once again, it will be on this upcoming winter project list. Hopefully I will make some progress this time. As for the comment about headliner, I took the orignal (badly stained) vinyl headliner and spray painted with vinyl paint. Looks almost new and will do until I get some wood up there as well. (Several winters away, I think).

Good luck!
