1990 740 gl Check Light, Intermittent no start, Clicking sound? 700

I recently started having intermittent no start problems with my Volvo 740 GL.
There is a steady clicking sound coming from what sounds like the Right side of my engine while driving. It also causes the idle to "bounce?" and run a little rough. The clicking seems to go away when I accelerate, and once she's running a bit the check engine light goes off. After sitting all night she starts fine, but I drive to work, and no start when I take my lunch break 5 hours later.. Wouldn't consider that a Hot or Cold start issue? Luke warm start. :)
I am in love with this car and use it for my business carting instruments around from my house to the city. I am an absolute "do it yourselfer" more out of necessity than anything so I hope this is something can fix.
I have read about a lot of the common problems with these cars. A while back I resoldiered all the important relays ( fuel pump, radio suppression, ect) so I am assuming that is not the problem, although I am going to go over them all again today. Are there any online engine schematics I could look at to get a better grasp on the engine, and possible options to correct the problem? Thanks for any advice in advnce.
