Ok to drive WITHOUT overdrive engaged? Will this hurt the transmission? 200 1989

I drove with mine out for a few weeks no problems.

Before you go through all that check the overdrive relay. I was told that I needed the OD solenoid replaced by a two different mechanics, and all I really needed was the overdrive relay. I went to the junk yard and got it for $5.


There is also the Over-Drive Solenoid Bypass Kit made by IPD Volvo listed below. Hope this info helps you out.
