6V to 12V question - fuel level sender 444-544

I'm converting my car from 6V to 12V. I have a 12V wiper and fan motor, need to change all my light bulbs, planning on using a 12V fuel gauge, but was wondering if the 6V fuel level sender needs to be changed to a 12V style?

If it needs to be changed, is there a voltage stablizer or something that can be used with the 6V gas gauge?
