Brake Problems - 1990 245 200

My daughter's 1990 245 has developed brake problems. The pedal sometimes goes almost to the floor, activating the "brake failure" light. Inspecting by lying under the car without removing any wheels shows no visible fluid leakage at the calipers. The master cylinder and the brake line "junction box" are dry on the outside. The problem just started today. Brake fluid level hasn't visibly changed. I suspect the master is starting to leak into the booster. Does this sound logical? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.
