740 speedo failure - my usual suspects list - any additions? 700 1992

Hey Guys,
Had the commonly reported wildly fluctuating 740 speedo movement for a while now and then couple days ago it died completely. But the odometer still works. This eliminates the speedo sensor in the diff, right? Anyway went thru the faq and archives with some different searches and here's my list:
1. inspect wiring at diff sensor
2. test sensor resistance 300 to 1600 ohms
3. test continuity in wires from sensor to speedo
4. check and replace 220 uF capacitor in speedo per faq
5. cleanup leaking capacitor on speedo.
6. instrument ground - clean
Anything else I missed as a likely culprit? I did 1 and 2 and all looks well there, tonite I proceed down the list unless somebody has input pointing me elsewhere.
Thanks in advance.
Robb
