Check engine light 200 1991

I remove the whole thermostat assembly, take off the pre heat hose and block off the hole in the air box. Then the thermostat won't fail potentially frying another AMM.
Rebuilt AMM have a bad reputation so I just get used ones and have had very good luck.
I don't know what an angle sensor is??
What codes did you get and does the car run fine except for the check engine light?
Dan
