floor repairs 120-130

OK, so I need to replace or at least large patches for both front halves of the floors in the '64.

My question is how important is it to use the pressed steel replacements vs. just fabbing my own out of sheet steel. I guess the stampings would make them a bit more rigid but this seems like one area where some snips or a good cutting wheel would take care of it for a lot less than the repros.

Opinions appreciated, I'm getting an order together for patch panels.
