Part 2 - Still have fuel delivery problem ... ECU, maybe? 200 1983

Replaced 25A fuseholder today and wagon started & ran great. I took it on a short test drive in the neighborhood. Well, it quit on me again 6-8 blocks away and would not restart. It's sitting in a store parking lot at the moment ... again.

I have checked & rechecked everything I can think of regarding fuel delivery. I topped off the tank w/ an additional 5 gal. just in case but no difference. I pulled and shined fuses 5 & 7 + holders.

Tonight I called a European car mechanic buddy and he threw out possible ECU malfunction after I rattled off all that I had done or tried. My '83 has the 503 ECU which I have read is prone to problems. If this theory sounds plausible, should I look around for a more reliable 510? He also said his shop regularly reconditions "cold-soldered" ECUs.
