Overdrive cut-out modification 200

Anyone see a problem with this plan?

I want my OD cut-out feature back (chopped the solenoid last year due to frequent fuse blowing), but I hate the location of the cut-out button; the shifter assembly chewed up the wires the first time, I have no desire to run new wires there and risk it again.

I have a new plan: Install a simple switch in the glove box that connects the blue 12v wire at relay terminal 15 with the white wire from relay terminal 87 that sends 12v to the solenoid. If I need OD cut out, I just reach in the glove box and cut the power via the switch. No more relay failure possible, no more frayed wires in the shifter to blow fuses.

I don't need the cut-out feature often, but it would be nice to have when I DO need it. I think this solution makes for a much less trouble-prone circuit, and while a switch in the glove box isn't really handy, it doesn't have to be for the once-in-a-blue-moon I'd use it.

Further, I have here in front of me a three-way switch. When I divert 12v from the solenoid, I could even send it to 87a to the indicator light.

Since this seems like such an obvious and simple solution to me, there must be a problem here. I want you all to think it over, if you would, and tell me if you see a problem.
