Performance of a 940 900 1992

Thanks for checking this out.

I have a '92 940 that I am not going to be driving for the next 5 months. I bought it for $600 on ebay 18 months ago. It didn't run. I brought it home and was able to fire it up immediately. It fired right up (something with the fuel system?). I understand the limiting factors on a no start are fuel and spark. I know how to test for those, but would rather not try to diagnose a fuel issue(removed an old security system). I drove the thing for over a year with no issues. I have an intermitent start situation with the car.

I guess my questions are as follows:

What do you replace outright on a RWD that hasn't been dealt with EVER?


weak points in my mind are as follows:

Lead to the Hall sensor on the back of the distributor.

Joint that connects the in-tank fuel pump to the system in the fuel tank.

Bad fuel pressure regulator.

Bad fuel filter (next to the main pump).

Thanks for your help, I am a rookied with some knowledge. I have a 745 that runs really bad, and a 940T that is an intermittent no start.
