Eliminating DRL (Daytime running lights) 900

I know that search is my friend, have spent considerable time looking for the answer. All I found was to use the headlight switch from a non-DRL car. Is this the fix? I know it's a safety feature, but there are times that the lights don't need to be on with the ignition. Also know about catching it between the detents.

Have tried pulling each wire one at a time from the connector, that didn't do it.

Thanks Dave
