New alternator brushes needed, what's involved in installing in a 960? 900 1997

Car has 185K and I don't think the brushes or alternator have ever been replaced. The footlights have a wee bit of flicker (engine stopped) and starting in the AM is a tad below enthusiastic.

Since I have done uncounted numbers of 240 alternator brushes, I should find this 960 job easy, right? Similar setup? Same part?

But I cannot even see the alternator - I know it's gotta be down there somewhere. Must I get at it from below? Up on a rack? Ramps?

Or just capitulate and pay a shop to do the job - ugh. Got an idea of this cost?

Thanks for your response.

Regards,

Bob
