Leak at the threads of the oil pressure gauge sending unit...Help! 200 1986

I installed a small OEM oil pressure gauge and sending unit last weekend. I used a new copper crush washer on the adapter that threads into the block and was able to reach and tighten down the actual sending unit with the oil filter out with an open ended wrench. All was well and I was under the car today and noticed a drop of oil coming off of the sending unit where it threads into the adapter there was a small amount of oil on the swaybar and some on the inside of the plastic splash pan. My question is, should I tighten it some more or should I remove the sending unit and put some thread pipe tape up a little ways up from the end of the threads to allow the electrical contact with the inside of the adapter's threads?

Thanks in advance for looking.
