Ignition control unit 200 1988

'88 240/M47: IN the Bentley book there are many warnings, some of which I have repeatedly disregarded years ago, before I ever had a Bentley manual. The latest being, with the under hood ignition control unit, "don't pull the multi pronged connector out of its position, you will damage one way pin connectors"????? I've never seen or heard of a one way pin connector.

Being curious, I dug out a spare which had wiring connected from a quick snip removal. And, you guessed it, the electrical multi prong connector pulled right out, swathed in protective grease. The prongs looked like the straight push type. I could see no reason how they could possibly be damaged or why such a warning would be issued??? Anyone??? What am I missing?
