i own a 66 220 that has spent it's entire life in so cal and before i painted it there was rust in the usual places.i grew up in R.I. and owned many old cars there. absolutely no rust on a 40 year old car driven on the salt cover roads of R.I.? my 122 wagon was painted 1 year ago when i rebuilt( bored +20,installed valve seats and guides with ss valves Isky cam and lifters)and installed a b20 engine with the usual new parts associated: w/pump,clutch timing gears etc.it received a new headliner the numerous door and window seals and other cosmetic and mechanical parts.so my car looks good but is far from pristine and i feel $5000 is a fair price but could i find someone with cash who feels the same? also the 2 speed auto box is a dog and even if it was not a problem it would dampen the sale.i changed my 4speed to an OD trans which makes 75 mph on the freeway more comfortable. my honest biased opnion if your wagon is exactly as described would sell for $2500 plus the rearity factor(as you know Volvos were and are popular in R.I. but the 122s have all turned to dust)in New England add $1200.
