I strongly disagree, especially if you have the block apart anyway. Milling the block to get the optimum squish area distance is not about HP, its about engine efficiency, being able to run a decent compression ratio without detonation, and fuel efficiency.
Its one of the reasons that on our engines we can increase the HP by 50% or more and get better fuel economy than stock.
