Fuel Pump Conversion 200

So I'm moving over a fuel system from an 85 245 to my 75 as part of the B230/m46 conversion. Currently, the fuel pump on the 75 is on it's way out, so I am figuring out how to move the stuff over from the 85.

The 85 system appears to be Tank -> Filter -> Pump -> FI system
The 75 system appears to be Tank -> Pump -> Filter -. FI system

Am I correct in this thinking? Obviously I would want to set it up so that the fuel filter is before the pump, right? Does it matter if I put the Pump/Filter combo at the back of the car vs. the front? I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to get this set up.

Thanks in advance!
-Phil
