odd, intermittent fuel leak 200 1991

yesterday when i drove the 245 onto ramps for an oil change i found gas dripping off the driver side panhard rod bushing (the end the rod connects to the chassis). the gas flowed along the inside of the chassis extension. there was no fuel on any of the fuel lines. no fuel was found on the gas tank underside/sides either. fuel leaks ONLY when the engine is running.

today we took off the trunk to find the top of the fuel gauge sender dry. started the car but didn't see any leak on top of the 3 metal tubes (all 3 are fairly rusty). we drove around and even filled up the gas tank but couldn't reproduce the leak.

has anyone had this experience before? any insights? thanks.
