Volvo getting to much gas( dont know what the problem is) 1990

I have a 1990 volvo 740 gl and when I was getting off the highway one night it just died on me. I pulled into a gas station and tried starting it and smelled gas so I looked underneath the car and saw gas dripping at a steady drip from the exhaust pipe(where the converter starts). I beleive the gas is coming from the engine block and running down the exhaust pipe which is where I saw it leaking and I also saw a wet spot on the exhaust pipe where it is coming from. I checked all of my gas lines and they all look fine no holes or nothing. I then pulled out one of the spark plugs and it was soaked in gas, very wet. Does anyone out there now what this problem could be?
