Not true. I don't know where you read that, but it seems you didn't read what I posted just above, referring to Steve's incorrect ignition description, saying:

"Most of your [his] ignition tips seem to describe the Volvo/Chrysler ignition, but the '80 K-jet used the Bosch, with the Fuel relay getting its "pull in" signal straight from Coil #1.

Before you do a distributor swap, I'd suggest you reseat the 2-wire (green and brown) connector between the distributor and the Ignition box a few times. That might improve the electrical connection, which could be marginal and affected by temperature.
