Sorta fixed, but new problem 700 1989

Alright, so I got the bulb holders mixed up. I replaced the right-side brake light with the white bulb holder and the right side brake light now flickers(become brighter) when the brake pedal is depressed.

New problem: refitting the old OEM black left-side black bulb holder, I don't get any light from it at all. Using the aftermarket bulb-holder that came with the taillights, I can get the left brake light to light up when I twist the bulb holder to about half-tight. Then, both bulb filaments light up and I don't have the ability to flicker this brake-light.

FWIW, the bulb failure indicator is still lit.

Very annoying! Grrrr

Any tips?

Thanks!
