240 wheel bearing replacement questions 200 1987

Been working on the wheel bearings today on the 240.

I have a slight problem. The inner wheel bearing race will snug down into the hub, but it wont butt up against the bevel that was machined. There is a small gap between the race and the machining in the hub.

Is this normal? The haynes manual is less than descriptive. In fact it doesnt say much of anything. I havent got to the outer yet...so hopefully that will go ok.

Also, I cant seem to find the grease seal anywhere in stock locally. Is it ok to re use the old one or should I wait and find a new one? I really need this back together asap as it's my main driver and can't go without.

Any quick help is appreciated, especially on the wheel bearing race thing. Thanks.
