Davico Converter Longevity 700

I installed a new Davico converter from FCPG three years ago. After hearing some rattling beneath, I looked to find the top heat shield separating from the converter body. The heat shield was in decent shape but I have to say the "stainless" converter body and rear pipe are seriously rusted. This has a 50k shell warranty but I'll bet it doesn't last the full 50k miles. Anybody else install one of these? What is your experience?
