How old is your oxygen sensor? They can make a big difference in the way the car runs and how much fuel it uses. If you need one, get a Bosch. Don't get the Walker branded one as they don't last as long. If you don't want to pay for the Volvo-specific sensor, a Bosch sensor for an old Ford Taurus ('86 w/V6) will work if wired in, since its electrically identical. They are usually less than $40 at Autozone. Just don't solder to the wires on the sensor itself. The sensor needs reference air, which is drawn in through small slits on the wire of the sensor. Solder and flux can clog these vents. Use good crimp connectors with shrink tubing, or get the ford connector, which can be soldered in, and use the sensor unmodified.
