(2) As a quick alternative... 700 1991

...to my Test Light post below (slow morning thinking), you can easily test the Neutral Safety switch by jumpering +12V from the battery to the "Starter Service Socket" shown in my post below. That's what it's there for — so the mechanic can impulse the starter from the engine compartment.

If the NS Switch is good, the jumpered +12V will pass through it to the Starter solenoid and engage the starter — pointing to the Ign. Switch as the culprit.

Normal +12V ———>Ign.Sw ———*———> NS Sw ———> Starter Solenoid

* = wiring to/from SS Socket connects at this point
