Seal Leakage in AW70L Transmission

Got that subject line from the FAQ's ...just to show I had been searching.

The leak on the wife's 93 940 tranny (AW70/71, I would think) is getting pretty bad. The only thing I really find is the reference to the leak from the seal at the shaft linkage. It is leaking toward the front of the tranny, so I know it is not the tailshaft.

Is that pretty much it? Once that seal is replaced (or pushed back in) - should the leak stop?

I really had not thought of doing this myself (as I know nothing about auto trannys) ..so I wanted to be up on what COULD BE before I take it to a shop.

Thanks ..
