Successfully saved an old 240 in VA 200 1984

Well folks, I finally did it- I saved an '84 242 from extinction in northern VA. Mr. Sean Corron, thanks to you, I got in touch with the gentleman who owned that cream-colored 242 4-speed that you were telling me about a few weeks ago. We met up at the Franconia-Springfield station, and I saw the car. Even though it does have its needs, I instantly fell in love with the car. This is one that is going to be babied and meticulously maintained by me. It runs well, drives well, and makes no funny noises. And the M46 tranny- I just love its feel.

We shook hands, and made a deal- it became mine for $400. All I have to do now is get insurance and registration for it. I'm so excited at the moment. I've had 850s the entire time I've driven Volvos (9 years) but this is my first 240. I plan to make the most out of my experience, with help from people like you!
