Valve Hushers-Easy to install? 200 1980

I somehow doubt that new hushers will cure anything. They really don't do much at all. When very fresh and new they might reduce the clicking slightly, but not any clatter. And they seem to get flattened and compressed quickly, and then don't do much at all. I suspect they were just there to smooth over showroom sales.

With the cam properly shimmed, and no hushers at all, my car has a very normal sounding amount of clicking from the valve train. If yours is making louder noises, perhaps the gaps are all wrong. Which is cause for concern, because the OHC shim system seems to be unusually mindless and durable.
