A/C problem on 1997 965..... which pressure switch? 900 1997

After following all the answers in a rather good post on this subject, I decided that the way our A/C has been acting up is the fault of a bad pressure switch.

So I went to the dealer to buy a new press-o-stat and the get a copy of their exploded diagram. I got the diagram, but the helpful parts guy asked what color press-o-stat did I want? Violet or Gray or Green? Hunh?? All at the same price.

Not being interested in finding out the color in the rain, I went on home. Checked again on that thread and learned that there are two pressure cut-out switches. A high pressure cut-out on the lower left of the condenser and the press-o-stat that is on the lower right of the condenser.

Am I interpreting correctly? There are two? The exploded view doesn't show the one on the left side, only the press-o-stat on the right side. In know that these two do different things, just not sure why the high pressure cut-out isn't on the exploded view.

The system is so iffy that I'll try almost anything (except having a dealer tech start throwing parts at it at my expense). It starts and runs just fine, for maybe 20 - 30 minutes. (Wife's commute is 45min). Then the air is no longer chilled. Blows fine, just gets warmer and more humid. Push off the blue square control, count to 30 or more, push on. System starts and does fine for some less time than the first cycle. etc. etc. etc. with the "count 30" becoming 40 or 50.

So a bad pressure switch makes sense to me, since I am sure the charge is correct.

Thanks in advance,

Bob
